Job summary

Geisinger Community Medical Center seeks an experienced Environmental Services staff member for night shifts. The role focuses on cleaning, disinfection, waste handling, and maintaining a safe patient environment across patient rooms, corridors, and clinical areas.

Excellent teamwork and attention to infection control are essential. Training and opportunities for CHEST certification are available, with a 24/7 EVS operation and shift differentials to support night work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in healthcare EVS or related field a plus.
• Ability to follow infection control and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, surgical suites, and clinical areas.
• Handle waste streams including biohazard and sharps per policy.
• Wear PPE and follow isolation precautions when in isolation rooms.
• Use hospital cleaners and equipment without damaging floors or fixtures.
• Provide clear signage for wet floors and cleaning in progress.
• Maintain bed tracking and inventory using mobile technology.
