Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a store team member in Indianapolis to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean shopping environment. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while upholding our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

You will answer questions, stock shelves, check dates, and help customers find items, all while promoting greet-and-help interactions that make shoppers feel welcome and valued.

Qualifications

Ability to handle stressful situations.
Basic math skills for transactions and stocking.
Effective communication with customers and teammates.

Responsibilities

Promote trust and respect among associates
Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome
Gain and maintain product knowledge and respond to questions
Recommend grocery items and inform customers of specials
Check product quality and review sell by dates
Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads
Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain temperatures
Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions
Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs
Notify management of accidents and safety risks
