Job summary

ADESA is seeking a Security/Gate Attendant to patrol gates, verify authorized entry, assist customers, and de-escalate conflicts. The role requires attention to detail and strong communication in a fast-paced environment.

Shifts include weekends, with starting pay of $15 per hour and potential for cross-functional duties across our facility. This position is stationed at ADESA locations, offering exposure to high-volume vehicle operations and teamwork with the auction team.

Qualifications

• Security guard experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience within a customer service environment.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships.
• Ability to handle conflict situations in a positive way.
• Ability to accurately enter data on a handheld device or computer.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

• Secure all gates and buildings and patrol the premises.
• Sound alarms and notify authorities in case of emergency.
• Verify only authorized individuals enter the property.
• Provide facility directions to customers, vendors and transporters.
• Check gate passes to ensure vehicles are authorized to exit property.
• Check departing vehicles to guard against theft of company property.
• Greet customers at the gate and provide prompt and courteous service.
• Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• When difficult situations arise, de-escalate situations to ensure we win with partners and collaborate on the forefront.
• Watch and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and doors left unsecured.
• Account for and identify all keys, codes or other safety and security information
• Maintain a current list of emergency and management telephone numbers
• Maintain good operating condition of all equipment and facilities, including handheld devices and printers.
• Notify management of all breakdowns and maintenance needs.
• Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work environment
• Practice and promote teamwork continuously.
• Set a good personal example of attitude and performance
• Maintain a good flow of communication with all auction team members and leaders
• Any other duties assigned by the designated manager
