Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Dock Worker to transport freight across dock areas and assist with loading to trailers. You will operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks and ensure freight documentation is accurate and complete.

The role requires basic math, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced dock environment, with night hours starting at 10:30 PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Warehousing, freight handling, and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count, basic math, and basic communications.
• Lift/carry hand freight; lift dock plates ~100 lbs; open trailer doors ~75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws/regulations and company policies.
