Job summary
Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits seeks a Facilities Mechanic to oversee warehouse equipment operation and maintenance, ensuring uptime for nightly production and shipping. You will monitor performance, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems in a fast-paced distribution environment.
The role requires forklift certification, experience with conveyors/ASRS, and the ability to work on complex equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required; 3 years in distribution environment.
- Forklift certification and heavy equipment operation experience.
- Experience troubleshooting 480V 3‑phase electrical systems.
- Proficiency with conveyors, AS/RS, and facility systems.
- Certifications in welding, electrical/wiring, HVAC helpful.
- PLC certification or Journeyman credentials helpful.
- Capable of managing high-pressure repair timelines.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair electric order pickers, electric reach trucks, and propane forklifts.
- Ensure conveyors, AS/RS, and warehouse systems meet nightly goals.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical equipment.
- Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance; update logs.
- Assemble/install equipment, cabinetry, appliances, and furniture as needed.
- Repair roofs, ceilings, floors, doors, plumbing, and paint.
- Maintain parts inventory and order parts as needed.
