Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mesa, AZ is seeking a dedicated janitorial associate to clean offices, restrooms, and public areas, while maintaining a safe and orderly environment. You will operate cleaning equipment, restock supplies, and report safety issues.

Ideal candidates are able to lift up to 50 pounds, follow instructions, and work evenings Tuesday through Friday. Background checks may be required.

Qualifications

• Must certify in the use of cleaning equipment (sweepers, buffers, lifts, carpet cleaners, power washers).
• Ability to understand basic instructions, complete tasks, and handle basic issues.
• Ability to independently lift and position objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with team lift.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, bend, and perform repetitive movements.
• Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and mechanical lifts for extended periods.
• Ability to work with commercial-grade cleaners and chemicals.
• Ability to work professionally with others and independently without constant supervision.
• Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
• Ability to understand English for communication, training, and safety.
• Must comply with regulations for handling chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, restrooms, public areas and fixtures as instructed.
• Operates mechanized cleaning equipment (vacuums, polishers, buffers, scrubbers, etc.).
• Operate balers, shredders, aerial lifts, and forklifts.
• Window and building exterior cleaning.
• Clean carpets, rugs, upholstery and drapes.
• Sanitize areas and furnishings as instructed.
• Wet or damp mop floors and dust furnishings.
• Dispose of trash and maintain supplies.
• Perform emergency cleanups and safety-related tasks.
• Report safety or security issues and needed repairs.
