Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking an Environmental Service Worker III for the night shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM), Monday through Friday with alternating weekends. The role supports a diverse patient population and requires adherence to safety and cleanliness standards in a busy hospital environment.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–3 months' relevant experience, and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Continued education through appropriate seminars and inservices encouraged.
• Good interpersonal skills demonstrated in interactions with staff, administrators, patients and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize work assignments and manage day’s agenda with ES Manager/Supervisor.
• Communicate progress and completion of duties to supervisor.
• Operate floor buffing equipment and automatic scrubbing machines.
• Ensure floors are clean, safe, and debris-free; use wet floor signs as needed.
