Qualifications

• Technical School completion of an accredited Paramedic program required
• Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Services or related field preferred
• 0-2 years of EMT-P experience required
• Experience working in a hospital-based emergency department, ambulance service, or critical care transport unit preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs, IV insertion, wound care, splinting, and cardiac monitoring.
• Assists physicians and nurses with emergency procedures, including resuscitation efforts and trauma care.
• Administers medications safely and accurately under established protocols, ensuring proper documentation.
• Documents all care and observations accurately in the EMR in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with the nursing team to prioritize care, support patient throughput, and promote a coordinated patient experience.
• Prepares patients for procedures and diagnostic imaging, ensuring comfort, safety, and understanding of interventions.
• Maintains, cleans, and stocks supplies and emergency department equipment, reporting any malfunctions or shortages.
• Demonstrates critical thinking in responding to emergent situations and performs advanced life support interventions as necessary.
