Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Newtown Veterinary Specialists in Newtown, Connecticut, seeks an Overnight Emergency Technician to join our 24/7 team. You will provide dedicated patient care, triage emergencies, assist during surgeries, and support clients with compassion.

Qualifications

Must have at least 1 year in a veterinary emergency setting working as a technician.
Must be able to triage patients, perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, monitor for sedated procedures, and take radiographs.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

Determine animal requirements by performing examinations, reviewing care plans, running tests and imaging.
Care for patients by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, vaccines, and wound care.
Assist with examinations and surgeries by preparing tools, restraining patients, and supporting the veterinarian.
Maintain medical records and communicate status to pet owners as directed.
