Job summary

You will participate in safety planning, discharge planning, and follow-up care, supporting patients and families through inpatient or outpatient decisions in a 24/7 ED environment, with sometimes overnight or weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Master’s in social work (MSW) required.
• CSWA or LCSW license required for clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial evaluations for patients, families, and significant others (adjustment to medical condition, care coordination, mental health status).
• Provide crisis intervention and short-term counseling for immediate needs (family notification, crisis response, suicidal ideation).
• Provide grief/loss counseling and education on related topics (fetal demise, death, pregnancy loss).
• Provide brief psychotherapy (individual, group) on topics including adoption, DV, substance use, parenting, disability.
• Advise and advocate for patients and families on decision-making, advance directives, ethics, and guardianship.
