Job summary

Bongards Premium Cheese in Norwood, MN, is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician on the 3rd shift (10 pm–6 am, Sunday through Thursday). You will maintain electrical and instrumentation systems, calibrate instruments, and support PLCs/RTUs to ensure continuous plant operations.

The role requires 3–5 years in a high-speed manufacturing setting, strong troubleshooting skills, and adherence to GMP/SOP/Safety guidelines. Eligible candidates will join a team focused on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing facility.
• Advanced electrical and process troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing control systems.
• Experience wiring control components including VFDs, PLCs, motor circuits, and safety circuits.
• Must follow GMPs, SOPs, and Safety Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and perform electrical & instrumentation maintenance.
• Perform routine corrective and preventive maintenance and improvements.
• Calibrate instruments and maintain control systems.
• Install, program, maintain, troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and electrical support systems.
• Design system specifications and programming for solutions.
• Develop electrical controls by researching and applying concepts.
• Provide installation, start-up and technical support.
• Maintain detailed documentation of plant electrical and control records.
