Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic at our Syracuse, NY Service Center to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on our Class 8 fleet, including trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts.

The role is full-time on 3rd shift (1:00 am–11:30 am). Candidates should have experience with diesel engines, AC/electrical systems, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Tools required. Relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Must be able to handle major repairs.
• Experience with AC and Electrical systems.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Own tools required.
• 2+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience with Cummins & Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
• Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day equipment maintenance on fleet equipment including preventive maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts.
• Perform minor to major repairs and welding as necessary depending on location.
• Service trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, and dollies as required.
