Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in clerical/administrative, medical billing, or data processing.
• Experience with LIS or EMR systems.
• Typing speed of at least 60 WPM.
• Strong spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Ability to maintain HIPAA/privacy compliance.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient demographics, physician, insurance and billing data into LIS.
• Maintain accuracy and productivity per quality standards.
• Review requisitions and contact providers for missing information.
• Interpret specimen site descriptions and diagnoses to categorize data.
• Determine specimen topography and related data.
• Prepare, complete, and maintain paperwork, reports, and documentation.
• Provide backup for specimen receiving and other clerical tasks.
• Follow lab safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA.
