Job summary

Johnston Public Schools seeks a Night Custodian at Johnston Senior High School in Johnston, Rhode Island. Under direct supervision, you will perform routine cleaning across school facilities, following a written schedule and shift assignments, including evenings, weekends or school breaks as needed.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, and at least two years of related custodial experience. A Rhode Island driver’s license is required, and ability to read, write English is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED sufficient to read and write English and perform basic math.
• Two years of related custodial experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written cleaning instructions and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, scrub, mop, and wax floors; vacuum and clean carpets.
• Dust and polish furniture and woodwork.
• Empty and clean waste receptacles.
• Clean restrooms, sinks and drinking fountains.
• Inspect grounds, report unsafe conditions, and maintain security.
