Hartford Public Schools is seeking a Night Leadperson Custodian II at Parkville Community School to supervise the night shift custodial staff and ensure a clean, safe environment. You will organize work, monitor events, and report to the Head Custodian, Night Custodial Supervisor, or Custodial Manager.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment, and the ability to work under time pressure.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials, methods and equipment used in large public buildings.
• Ability to understand relationships between a clean environment and health.
• Ability to manage staff and work within tight time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Organize and schedule the work for night staff and monitor functions.
• Clean and wash floors and walls; dust and polish furniture.
• Wash exterior windows and interior windows from ladder as required.
• Clean light fixtures; replace lamps and bulbs.
• Clean restrooms and facilities.
• Strip, wax and polish floors.
• Check room temperatures on thermostat.
• Arrange rooms for use by schools and outside organizations.
• Open and secure facilities as needed.
• Make minor repairs to buildings and equipment.
• Sweep sidewalks and mow grounds as appropriate.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
