Job summary

Cook County Health & Hospitals System seeks a CAT Technologist to perform CT scans for in-patients and out-patients. You will process and critique radiographic images, monitor the CAT Scanner, and ensure infection control and radiation safety compliance.

Under Radiologist supervision, you will adjust scanning parameters, obtain high-quality images, assist residents and students, and support in teaching CAT scanning techniques. Shift is overnight, with commensurate pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate from AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program (two-year).
• ARRT CT certification required.
• Illinois IEMA licensure required; provide license at interview.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and sets up CAT scanning equipment.
• Explains procedures to patients and ensures safety throughout procedures.
• Sends images to PACS and enters patients in RIS.
• Sets scanning data (mA, time, slice thickness, fields, algorithm).
• Obtains images of diagnostic quality for medical problems.
• Maintains daily logs and assists in teaching CAT scanning procedures.
