Job summary

The CT Tech role at Northwestern Memorial Hospital is a full-time night position scheduled for 36 hours per week, with three 12-hour shifts from 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities include positioning patients, administering contrast per policy, data entry, patient communication, image review, QA, and daily clerical tasks while maintaining a clean work area and supplies. A sign-on bonus of $8,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required.
• IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety license or certification.
• BLS through American Heart Association.
• 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
• Administers contrast media oral and/or IV contrast in accordance with department policies and procedures, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders and follows through with post exam instructions.
• Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer.
• Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort.
• Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs.
• Performs CT equipment QA and maintains required logs.
• Performs clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
• Maintains and cleans work area and equipment; replenishes supplies as needed
