Position Overview

The Yard Foreman will assist any or all departments of the Company. The Yard Foreman must help to ensure the timely completion of jobs and projects. This includes loading and unloading trucks for Company employees and customers, organizing, and supervising temporary laborers, and performing service work as required.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Arrive at the work site on time wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), e.g., hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, masks, and earplugs as required, and when applicable, a respirator.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations of the Company.
• Load delivery trucks for daytime operations. This could include our Traffic Control operations, Pavement Marking Operations and Sign Installation Operations.
• Ensure that all Will Call DPR’s are built and ready. Ensure events or large projects are built and ready.
• Supervise a night team to facilitate all activities.
• Lift, carry and stack materials and traffic control devices.
• Sweep and organize yard, shops, and inventory.
• Wash and clean vehicles, equipment, and traffic control devices
• Ensure all temporary laborers are compliant with all safety rules and regulations
• Support drivers and customers to ensure their success.
• Ensure a high focus on equipment and material accuracy
• Supervise the yard laborers to maximize their effectiveness
• Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late, when necessary, with little or no notice. Able to work mid and night shifts
• Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude in building relationships with team members inside and outside of the organization
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-motivated; capable of taking initiative, successfully handling and prioritizing multiple competing assignments and effectively managing deadlines.
• A passion for working in a high-growth business as the pace and expectations of the culture.
• A passion for success, a positive and friendly attitude, and a consistent work ethic are all a must.
• A strong knowledge of the traffic control/construction industry is a major plus.
• Basic math skills (ability to read a tape measurer)

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

• Work is performed outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions / varying temperatures, e.g., exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, dry, and/or windy conditions.
• Minimum lifting requirements are 50 lbs.
• Work includes prolonged and repeated lifting (including overhead) up to 75lbs., standing, walking, climbing, twisting, kneeling, reaching, feeling, climbing and balance, crouching, and crawling.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time, 8 to 10 hrs. per day up to 6 days per week.
• Schedule will be Sunday night through Thursday night. These days may be subject to change based on workload.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License and clean MVR **Must maintain a valid driver’s license during entire employment**
• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
• Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check
• Forklift certification and Flagger certification will be required.
• CDL is not required but is a plus.
