Job summary

Procon is seeking a Night Construction Inspector to support a cruise terminal renovation project in Port Canaveral, Florida. This onsite role will provide quality assurance and construction inspection oversight during night-shift activities, helping ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with contract documents, approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably involving construction inspection, QA/QC, quality assurance, or construction management.
Experience as a Construction Inspector, QA/QC Inspector, QA/QC Manager, or similar field-based construction role.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, installation methods, and industry quality standards.
Ability to interpret and apply construction drawings, specifications, and other contract documents in the field.
Experience inspecting multiple construction disciplines: architectural, structural, MEP, life safety.
Knowledge of OSHA standards and jobsite safety practices.
Strong written communication and ability to prepare field reports and records.
Ability to work independently and provide observations during night shifts.

Responsibilities

Provide quality assurance and inspection oversight for construction activities, evaluating workmanship and materials against drawings and specs.
Lead and coordinate onsite inspection activities during the night shift to verify contract compliance and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and document construction progress, ensuring work conforms to plans and quality standards.
Conduct detailed inspections of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
Review submittals and project documentation to support field inspections and contractor compliance.
Identify deficiencies and coordinate timely resolution with project team and contractors.
Prepare daily field reports, non-conformance notices, and inspection records with photos.
Evaluate contractor pay applications based on progress and work completed.
Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements including OSHA standards.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders as required.
Support closeout activities including punch lists, testing, commissioning observations, and final inspections.
Ensure completed work meets contract requirements prior to turnover.
