Job summary

BarSplice, a subsidiary of FC Industries, is seeking a CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator for our Dayton, OH facility. You will set up and operate CNC lathes, load programs, adjust tooling, and read blueprints to produce precision parts for critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Previous CNC machining experience, preferably with CNC lathes.
• Experience setting up CNC machines, including tooling, offsets, and machine adjustments is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and make adjustments as needed.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs throughout the shift.
• A team-player mindset with a willingness to learn, improve, and contribute to company growth.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce parts according to specifications.
• Load programs, select tooling, and make necessary machine adjustments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are met.
• Make tool offsets and adjustments to maintain part accuracy and consistency.
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot basic machining or setup issues.
• Perform tool changes and replacing worn tooling as needed.
• Maintain production goals while prioritizing quality and safety.
• Keep machines and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Work with team members and leadership to identify opportunities for improvement.
