Job summary

Bay Area Hospital in Oregon is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Post Surgical Unit on the night shift. The CNA provides high-quality, compassionate patient care under supervision of licensed staff.

All CNA tasks are carried out under the direction of a Registered Nurse to ensure safe and effective care delivery. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient conditions, documenting in the EMR, and coordinating with the RN and MD.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current, valid Oregon CNA certification (per the 2025 unified certification requirements).
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including bathing, grooming, feeding, ambulating, toileting, and repositioning.
• Monitor and document required cases, patient vital signs, pain levels, height, weight, intake/output and report abnormalities.
• Document care accurately and in a timely manner in the patient’s medical record.
• Obtain patient specimens and perform point-of-care testing (e.g., blood glucose, urine screening) within scope of training and as directed by RN/MD.
• Coordinate nurse call system assignments and monitor call response status.
• Maintain and manage unit inventory, order supplies, and ensure organized storage and workspaces.
