Job summary

DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center) seeks clinicians to provide direct MOUD services at the ORCA Center, a 24/7 operation with prescribers, nurses, medical assistants, and peer specialists.

The role emphasizes harm reduction, MOUD initiation (buprenorphine/methadone), and follow‑up care for individuals experiencing homelessness with complex health needs. Join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to compassionate, evidence‑based treatment.

Qualifications

  • Fully licensed as Physician, NP, or PA in WA.
  • DEA registration required.
  • Experience or training in addiction medicine and harm reduction.
  • Commitment to serving individuals experiencing homelessness and co-occurring conditions.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and equity frameworks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based treatment for OUD, including buprenorphine and methadone initiation and management.
  • Conduct harm reduction counseling and HIV/hepatitis C care, including PrEP.
  • Treat conditions common in OUD, including skin infections and mental health needs.
  • Perform initial health assessments and follow-up visits for MOUD patients.
  • Educate patients on health topics and harm reduction strategies.
  • Document clinical care according to DESC and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide holistic care.
  • Ensure continuity of care between ORCA Center and other providers.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education.
  • Participate in in-service training and case discussions.
