Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Emergency Department Observation Unit. This full-time night role (7pm–7am, 36 hours weekly) requires leadership to coordinate care, support staff, and ensure smooth patient flow for a diverse patient mix observed under 24 hours.

Qualifications

• ASN or higher nursing degree required.
• Current Indiana or compact RN license.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• ACLS for Healthcare provider required (within 12 months of hire).
• One year of nursing experience required; one year in area of specialty preferred.
• Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as a resource nurse for the department.
• Coordinate care on designated shifts and provide leadership to unit staff.
• Lead staff and oversee patient care during shifts.
• Determine staffing needs and manage patient flow during your shift.
• Oversee employees while performing related work to those led by the position.
