Job summary

Action Carting Environmental Services/ Interstate Waste Services seeks a Waste Collection CDL Driver for the Jersey City Depot, servicing NYC routes. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will operate rear-loading trucks on overnight routes, with 10–12 hour shifts, and ensure safe, compliant service.

The role requires a valid CDL A/B, 1+ year experience, DOT/OSHA knowledge, and strong English communication. Union, non-exempt, hourly with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL A or B in the last 7 years.
• Must speak/read English well enough to communicate with the public and complete reports.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and traffic regulations.
• Willingness to work nights/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate rear-loading truck per safety standards and DOT regulations.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections using DVIR; report issues.
• Ensure containers and contents are secure; check tarps and ties.
• Transport waste to disposal/transfer/recycle facilities as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and report safety issues.
• Communicate professionally with customers and Dispatchers.
