Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking an Instructor III in Phoenix to deliver education programs in collaboration with the Arizona Center for Nature Conservation and the Phoenix Zoo. The role focuses on Night Camps (Oct-May) and Day Camps (summer/seasonal) with potential zoo events.

Responsibilities include leadership of camp activities, hands-on animal handling training, and ensuring safe, engaging experiences for participants of all ages.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Friendly, responsible, and enthusiastic.
• Maintains a positive and respectful attitude with guests and teammates.
• Good listening skills and open to giving/receiving feedback to help the team grow.
• Can effectively and respectfully communicate with a diverse audience and teammates.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including overnights, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent time management and guest service skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Interest in learning, understanding, and communicating science and conservation concepts to Zoo guests.
• Ability to pass pre-employment checks and obtain required licenses.
• Demonstrated leadership and guest service experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality guest service to all Zoo guests with a friendly, helpful, and professional attitude.
• Present and facilitate scheduled programs using a variety of animals, plants, and media.
• Follow curriculum to provide high-quality experiences for audiences of all ages.
• Serve food to program guests in camps.
• Attend meetings and training for department team members.
• Check e-mail regularly and respond promptly when appropriate.
• Lead Night Camp logistics, direct teammates, and ensure safety policies are followed.
