University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a Civil Service Building Service Foreman to supervise custodial operations on a full-time basis at Champaign-Urbana. The role focuses on directing building service workers, ensuring quality, and maintaining safety and schedules.

The position is onsite with a fixed night shift (11:00 PM–7:00 AM Central) and a budgeted salary of $58,620 per year. Start date as soon as possible after 9/7/2026, with application deadline 9/3/2026.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Three (3) years (36 months) of experience in building custodial work.

Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise, evaluate and assist Building Service Workers on assigned shift.
• Ensure set-ups related to Illini Union are completed timely and professionally.
• Create schedules covering holidays, vacations and special needs.
• Verify and approve timesheets in timekeeping systems.
• Ensure BSW training in procedures, products, and equipment.
• Complete foreman logs and daily inspections to maintain quality.
• Enforce safe working habits and inspect equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
