Job summary

Mercy seeks a Behavioral Health Technician in St. Louis for full-time night shifts (12 hours). Under RN supervision, you will provide compassionate, individualized patient care, monitor safety, and support therapeutic interventions while upholding Mercy's mission and service standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, accurate EMR documentation, and collaboration with the care team. A High School diploma is required; Nurse Assistant Training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Nurse Assistant Training Program preferred.
• Experience in Behavioral Health or related healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and repositioning.
• Observe and document patient condition, mood and participation in treatment activities.
• Take and record vital signs, intake/output, and safety checks per policy and orders.
• Build therapeutic relationships with patients through respectful interactions.
• Participate in admissions, transfers, and discharges, including belongings.
• Report changes in patient condition to licensed staff promptly.
• Reinforce safety plans and encourage engagement in treatment goals.
• Assist with monitoring and documentation during restraint situations under supervision.
