Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Glendale Heights, IL, is seeking a night-shift patient care technician to support behavioral health patients. The role covers 36 hours weekly, 7p–7a, with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

You will assist with activities of daily living, provide direct patient care, and work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety, therapeutic engagement, and quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL) and routine tasks.
• Provide direct patient care and therapeutic interventions.
• Observe and record patient behaviors; report changes to care team.
• Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians and providers for continuous care.
• Facilitate daily group activities and manage safety as needed.
• Identify safety hazards and address corrections.
• Assist in crisis situations with de-escalation and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
