Job summary

Bradford Health Services, a leading provider of behavioral health care, seeks a Behavioral Health Technician at Woodland Recovery Center in Memphis, TN. The role supports clinical staff by maintaining a safe, structured environment for patients in treatment for substance use disorders.

The BHT monitors patient activities, facilitates recovery education and group sessions, and helps with daily routines while ensuring compliance with safety standards and facility policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in a mental health or behavioral health setting preferred.
• Knowledge of clinical documentation standards and ability to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patients and provide support as needed.
• Conduct intake-related luggage and body searches as part of procedures.
• Monitor and document patient behavior per facility policies and schedules.
• Conduct regular check-ins and encourage progress in recovery.
• Supervise activities and facilitate group sessions and engagement in treatment programs.
• Monitor for distress or relapse cues and report findings to clinicians.
• Lead and facilitate book studies, recovery meetings, and coping-skill sessions.
• Assist with non-clinical group activities reinforcing positive behavior.
• Encourage patient participation in group discussions and recreational activities.
