Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Corrigan, TX is seeking a Barko Operator Trainee for our plywood mill to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on the night shift. Training may occur on other shifts and overtime may be required as needed to meet production goals.

The trainee will monitor safety, quality, and production flow, perform coordinated tasks, and support veteran operators while learning best practices and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience operating a knuckle boom (Barko).

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned machine safely and efficiently, achieving quality and productivity goals.
• Visually analyze safety, production, quality, and flow processes.
• Make operational decisions based on quality and production standards.
• Coordinate functions for Green End operation.
• Mentor new employees to meet production goals.
• Adhere to operating SOPs.
• Identify and troubleshoot flow problems.
• Be self-motivated, a team player, and reliable.
• Complete necessary reports.
