Job description

The Night Auditor is responsible for the preparation and disposition of all Night Audit work. Responsible for the front desk operation during the overnight shift (Typically 11pm-7am). Primary responsibilities include: registering guests, making reservations, preparing daily reports, balancing transactions, and conducting security walks.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field required.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework in related field helpful.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Accounting Principles.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve guest issues and respond to emergencies.
• Proficiency in Windows OS, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate and select among alternative actions quickly and accurately.
• Ability to work well under stress and high-pressure situations.
• Problem-solving skills, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues.
• Ability to assimilate complex information from various sources and adapt as needed.
• Understanding of financial data and basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities:

• Approach all guest and staff interactions with friendliness and service orientation.
• Maintain regular attendance per hotel standards.
• Maintain professional appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
• Comply with hotel standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor.
• Initiate and complete the End of Day process.
• Run necessary reports for audits and daily operations.
• Complete the Night Audit checklist and balance the day's work.
• Handle cashiering responsibilities and operate Front Office computer systems as per standards.
• Perform all Front Office functions during the overnight shift.
• Ensure property security through periodic checks.
• Handle guest requests and follow safety procedures.
• Maintain proper record-keeping and familiarity with hotel policies.
• Complete direct bills and manage accounts as required.
• Maintain communication with team via radio and ensure security procedures are followed.
• Prepare daily reports and transfer accounts as needed.
• Train new Night Auditors and perform other duties as assigned.
