As a Night Auditor at Home2 Suites - Wilmington Medical District, you will be responsible for managing the front desk operations during the night shift, ensuring smooth and efficient overnight operations. Your role involves balancing financial records, handling guest inquiries and requests, and maintaining the security of the hotel. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, trustworthy, and able to work independently with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Night Audit Functions:
    1. Perform nightly audits of financial transactions, including reconciling guest accounts, verifying charges, and ensuring accurate postings.
    2. Generate and review daily financial reports, including occupancy rates, revenue, and outstanding balances.
    3. Identify and resolve any discrepancies in financial records or guest accounts.
  2. Guest Service:
    1. Provide exceptional service to guests during the night shift, including check-ins, check-outs, and handling any special requests or inquiries.
    2. Address and resolve guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
  3. Front Desk Operations:
    1. Manage the front desk operations, including answering phones, processing reservations, and handling guest requests.
    2. Ensure that the front desk area is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  4. Security and Safety:
    1. Monitor the hotel’s security systems and perform regular patrols to ensure the safety and security of guests and hotel property.
    2. Handle emergency situations and coordinate with emergency services if necessary.
  5. Administrative Tasks:
    1. Prepare and distribute nightly reports to management, including summaries of guest activity, financial performance, and any notable incidents.
    2. Complete and file necessary paperwork, including guest registration cards and incident reports.
  6. Collaboration:
    1. Communicate effectively with the day shift team and management regarding any issues or updates from the night shift.
    2. Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance staff to address any overnight needs or requests.
  7. Guest Relations:
    1. Provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions to guests.
    2. Ensure that all guest interactions are handled with professionalism and courtesy.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in hospitality or business is a plus.
  2. Previous experience in a hotel front desk or audit role preferred but not required.
  3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  6. Proficiency in hotel management software.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle emergency situations.
  8. Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
