Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Night Audit Clerk to support daily financial operations across our guest service areas in US hotels. You will balance cash and card transactions, generate daily reports, and ensure accuracy in front desk and restaurant revenue streams.

As part of a dynamic team, you will act as a hotel system liaison during night hours, assist in booking and guest communications, and help maintain daily balance sheets and postings in accordance with

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 6–12 months in related role or office setting.
  • Accounting or hospitality experience is a bonus.
  • Excellent computer and cash-handling skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Audit, balance and report cash and credit operations for food and beverage outlets, including checks, over/short, deposits and postings.
  • Reconcile cashier reports with the restaurant system each night and post unresolved tickets.
  • Balance and report front desk activity: room charges, deposits, taxes and corrections.
  • Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for daily reports.
  • Balance and close bank ticket codes and transmit credit card batches.
  • Assist in night audit and guest service duties as needed.

The Role POSITION PROFILE

Responsible for performing close of day scenarios for the hotel Guest Service area and account for daily activity by organizing and verifying information; identifying and correcting discrepancies; posting accounts; running and distributing daily reports.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

Audit, balance and report on all food and beverage outlets’ (e.g. restaurant, lounges, banquets, room service) cash and credit operations to include but not limited to checks, over/short figures/tally sheets, deposits, counts, house charges, promotional materials, postings, etc. And reset all registers to ensure accurate, timely information. Follow all specified procedures to reconcile cashier’s reports with the restaurant system each night, researching and posting any unresolved tickets from the day shifts. Follow all specified procedures to maintain and post a daily balance of all house accounts, including running preliminary reconciliations, detail transactions and final reports to accounting. Audit, balance, post and report on the front desk to include but not limited to; room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, over/short figures, deposits, etc. To ensure accuracy and verify proper cash handling procedures are followed. Audit, balance and prepare, verify and report on Room information to provide rooms management with a picture of how they are performing. Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for preparation of daily reports. Produce accurate and timely reports and correctly handle all cash transactions. Balance and audit for accuracy room revenue, food and beverage revenue, cashier’s reports, and guest and house accounts and telephone revenue; assisting the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues. Balance and close all bank ticket codes, daily. Transmit credit card batches. Run night audit final after ensuring all revenues are in balance nightly. Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents. Act as hotel system liaison during night hours. Perform all Guest Service Representative functions as required; may assists in booking room reservations; may assist in answering hotel phone calls and notifying guests of message. Perform any other duties as designated.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

High school education or equivalent experience. Six to twelve months of employment in related position or office setting with this company or other organization. Accounting or hospitality experience a bonus. Requires having excellent computer and cash handling skills, ability to stand for extended periods of time; present a sociable, outgoing, lively and guest service-oriented demeanor. Ability to adapt to changing guest needs. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job. Good judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
