Job summary

Valor Hospitality is seeking a Night Audit/Guest Service Associate to balance cash, report daily activity, and support hotel operations during night hours. You will audit cash and credit operations for food and beverage outlets, reconcile front desk postings, and transmit nightly reports to accounting.

The role requires strong cash handling, reliability, and excellent guest service skills, with opportunities to assist guests with reservations and inquiries as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Six to twelve months of employment in related position or office setting with this company or other organization.
  • Accounting or hospitality experience a bonus.
  • Requires having excellent computer and cash handling skills, ability to stand for extended periods of time; present a sociable, outgoing, lively and guest service-oriented demeanor.
  • Ability to adapt to changing guest needs.

Responsibilities

  • Audit, balance and report on all food and beverage outlets’ cash and credit operations.
  • Reset all registers to ensure accurate, timely information.
  • Reconcile cashier’s reports with the restaurant system each night and post unresolved tickets.
  • Maintain and post a daily balance of all house accounts and run preliminary reconciliations.
  • Audit, balance and report on the front desk; room charges, deposits, taxes and adjustments.
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for daily reports.
  • Produce accurate reports and handle all cash transactions.

Position profile

Responsible for performing close of day scenarios for the hotel Guest Service area and account for daily activity by organizing and verifying information; identifying and correcting discrepancies; posting accounts; running and distributing daily reports.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Audit, balance and report on all food and beverage outlets’ (e.g. restaurant, lounges, banquets, room service) cash and credit operations to include but not limited to checks, over/short figures/tally sheets, deposits, counts, house charges, promotional materials, postings, etc.
  • And reset all registers to ensure accurate, timely information.
  • Follow all specified procedures to reconcile cashier’s reports with the restaurant system each night, researching and posting any unresolved tickets from the day shifts.
  • Follow all specified procedures to maintain and post a daily balance of all house accounts, including running preliminary reconciliations, detail transactions and final reports to accounting.
  • Audit, balance, post and report on the front desk to include but not limited to; room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, over/short figures, deposits, etc.
  • To ensure accuracy and verify proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Audit, balance and prepare, verify and report on Room information to provide rooms management with a picture of how they are performing.
  • Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for preparation of daily reports.
  • Produce accurate and timely reports and correctly handle all cash transactions.
  • Balance and audit for accuracy room revenue, food and beverage revenue, cashier’s reports, and guest and house accounts and telephone revenue; assisting the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues.
  • Balance and close all bank ticket codes, daily.
  • Transmit credit card batches.
  • Run night audit final after ensuring all revenues are in balance nightly.
  • Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents.
  • Act as hotel system liaison during night hours.
  • Perform all Guest Service Representative functions as required; may assists in booking room reservations; may assist in answering hotel phone calls and notifying guests of message.
  • Perform any other duties as designated.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • High school education or equivalent experience.
