Job Summary

The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the front desk operations during the night shift and performing accounting duties related to the hotel’s daily revenue and financial transactions. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently. The Night Auditor ensures a smooth transition between shifts and maintains accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Front Desk Operations:
• Manage guest check-ins and check-outs during the night shift, providing exceptional service and addressing any guest inquiries or concerns.
• Handle phone calls, emails, and messages from guests, ensuring all communications are handled promptly and professionally.
• Financial Auditing:
• Perform nightly audit procedures, reconciling daily transactions, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
• Prepare and generate financial reports, including daily revenue reports and occupancy statistics for management review.
• Cash Handling:
• Maintain and balance the cash drawer, processing payments and refunds as needed.
• Ensure all financial transactions are documented accurately in the property management system.
• Security and Safety:
• Monitor the hotel premises for security and safety issues, reporting any concerns to management or local authorities as necessary.
• Conduct regular checks of the property to ensure all safety protocols are being followed.
• Communication and Coordination:
• Collaborate with other departments to relay important information regarding guest needs and hotel operations.
• Prepare the front desk for the morning shift, ensuring all relevant information is passed on to the day staff.
  

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel front desk or accounting role preferred.
• Proficiency in property management systems and basic accounting software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and handling light physical tasks.
