Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.Greet guests in the lobby and help with line management and crowd control
  • Audits and processes source documents in accordance with established departmental procedures to facilitate timely and accurate recording of hotel and related revenue.
  • Initiates the generation of and coordinates the distribution of various hotel system reports.
  • Assists in training and supervising staff to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established job requirements.
  • Notifies Front Office Manager of any potential discrepancies and assists with research and resolution of problems.
  • Familiar with all aspects of the Front Desk, including all check-in and checkout procedures.
  • Oversees all close day functions in the front office and that all rooms are checked in and payments are secured.
  • Maintains support documentation for established filing system.
  • Ensure in house casino comp have Trop Advantage numbers, if not get numbers and email Front Office Manager the discrepancies
  • Assists all guests and other departments during the audit shift in the capacity of manager on duty in their absence.
  • Makes sure copy machine, printers at front desk and in business center have paper
  • Follow the pre-made Night Audit check list created by the Front Office Manager
  • Performs other duties as required by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard, 10-key and calculator.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
  • Must be able to accurately review and audit relevant information.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with adding machine and computer input terminal.
  • Ability to solve mathematically oriented problems
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • HS diploma or GED.
  • Two years experience in Front Desk, or through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting, or closely related field and one-year related experience.
  • Previous Hotel Front Office/Night Audit experience is strongly preferred.
  • Accounting background helpful
  • Clerical background preferred.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • May be subject to smoking environment and moderate noise.
  • Fast paced, high volume environment involving constant
  • Must be able to stoop, reach and bend as necessary.
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest demands in a fast-paced environment.
