Job Summary:

The purpose of a GUEST SERVICE AGENT is to serve as the primary contact for all guests throughout their stay and to efficiently check guests in and out of the hotel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Operate the front desk according to standard operating procedures and provide exceptional guest service.
  2. Accurately operate reservation, check-in/out, and credit card systems following all safety and security procedures.
  3. Check registration (folio) cards for completeness, accuracy, and legibility.
  4. Maintain an accurate cash sheet and balance the cash drawer.
  5. Operate the switchboard, disperse calls, take messages, and use message lights appropriately.
  6. Know emergency procedures and respond accordingly.
  7. Never disclose a guest’s room number publicly.
  8. Be knowledgeable about hotel promotions, room rates, amenities, and building layout.
  9. Complete daily reports and audits as required.
  10. Keep the lobby and office area clean.
  11. Set wake-up calls and update the room status sheet for housekeeping.
  12. Handle credit card validations and secure the area when leaving the front desk.
  13. Create incident reports for guest injuries/issues as needed.
  14. Answer all calls within three rings using a scripted manner.
  15. Record reservations accurately and confirm as requested.
  16. Resolve guest complaints effectively.
  17. Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to work schedules.
  18. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  19. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • One-year college or technical school certificate, or 3-6 months related experience/training, or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Basic computer and POS system skills.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Indoor environment, exposure to cleaning chemicals, moderate noise levels. Must stand more than 2/3 of the time, lift up to 15 lbs, and push/pull up to 10 lbs.
