Job summary

EMED Group's Bristol Ambulance is hiring a Night Dispatcher to join the team in Bristol. You will support daily ambulance operations, coordinate staffing and resources, and work closely with the Dispatcher, Control team and Resource Manager to ensure safe, high‑quality patient transport services.

The role follows a 4 on 4 off, 12‑hour shift pattern (19:00–07:00, 42 hours per week). Flexible, proactive individuals with strong organisation and communication skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and stay calm in a busy operational environment.
• Experience in an operational, dispatch, logistics or supervisory environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Dispatcher in coordinating daily ambulance operations.
• Help maintain safe staffing levels and operational cover throughout the day.
• Ensure ambulance crews have the appropriate skills, equipment, and resources to carry out patient transport safely.
• Liaise with Control, operational teams, and external healthcare partners to support service delivery.
• Monitor operational activity and elevate issues or improvement opportunities to the Resource Manager.
• Complete operational reports and maintain accurate records using company systems.
• Support the day-to-day supervision of operational staff, promoting company policies and procedures.
