Job summary

The University of Cincinnati Health system is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for nighttime coverage within the Hospitalist Group at West Chester Hospital. The role requires a Master’s Degree in Nursing or PA as well as state prescriptive authority and board certification as applicable.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years of relevant experience, good cross-disciplinary collaboration, and the ability to manage patient care during night shifts in an inpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (acute care) required.
• Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.
• Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty.
• Three years nursing experience.
• Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA.
• Minimum of one year experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced medical care across inpatient service areas; primary focus on night history and physical and cross-coverage.
• Perform physical exams based on age and history per collaborating physician guidelines.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate labs and diagnostic studies.
• Develop a treatment plan with the physician and care team.
• May prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by state/UC Health authority.
• No procedures required.
• Other duties to support the department's mission.
