Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a dedicated Patient Placement Representative for the Admit-Transfer Center. The role supports a high-volume system spanning 16 hospitals, managing about 2000 beds, ~1500 transfers monthly, and ~1000 calls daily.

Responsibilities include patient access, registration, billing data verification, and coordinating telehealth and admission processes. Requires high school diploma or GED and healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with two years of work experience in a medical office, call center, healthcare entity and/or customer service environment.
• EPIC experience and ability to register patients preferred.
• Proficient with Windows, Excel, and general intranet/internet navigation.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient access and registration functions for the MUSC system.
• Provide high level customer service to MUSC clients and team members across entities.
• Verify and prepare patient accounts for billing to maximize revenue.
• Facilitate Admit/Transfer Center registrations and Telehealth appointments.
• Process patient pre-admission and admission demographics and verify insurance data.
