Acadia Healthcare's North Port Behavioral Health is seeking a Full Time Admissions Counselor for Nights to help patients with mental health and substance use needs. This inpatient facility in North Port, FL provides 24-hour care and a supportive team to guide families through the admission and intake process.

You will perform pre-admission assessments, coordinate referrals, verify benefits, and collaborate with medical staff to determine the appropriate level of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a social services field required.
• Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• One or more years’ experience in mental/behavioral health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries about the facility within policy timeframes.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Coordinate admission and transfer from referrals to ensure appropriate level of care.
• Verify benefit eligibility and communicate with payor for authorization.
• Complete pre-admission assessments and document patient information.
