Job summary

Acadia Healthcare's Oasis Behavioral Health is seeking an Admissions Counselor (PRN) to support patients and families through the admissions process with empathy and urgency. The role includes insurance verification, pre-admission assessments, and collaboration with clinical teams to ensure appropriate placement and continuity of care.

Shift options include day and night. The ideal candidate will have a social services background, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a social services field required (if state allows).
• Master's degree in a social services field or RN preferred.
• 1+ years’ experience in mental/behavioral health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries about the facility within policy timeframes.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Perform benefit eligibility checks and communicate with the business office and patient/family.
• Coordinate admission and transfers between levels of care.
• Complete pre-admission assessments and communicate dispositions.
• Ensure medical record documentation supports payor authorization.
• Admit patients and complete forms in registration and accounting systems.
• Maintain patient safety and provide compassionate customer service.
• Conduct safety checks and supervise as needed.
