The Niemanns Deli Shift Supervisor position at Niemann Foods in Champaign, IL, supports the Deli Manager in running a profitable department. You will ensure customer service standards, oversee food preparation, quality checks, and safe handling while working safely with the team.

The role requires supervising Associates, enforcing Health Code guidelines, and maintaining stock levels and cleanliness in a fast-paced deli environment at the Champaign location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Food Handler’s Certification as required by State law provided at store level.

SUMMARY

The Niemanns Deli Shift Supervisor responsibilities are to assist the Deli Manager with running a profitable department including but not limited to ensuring customer service standards are being met, presentations are at expected levels, and safe food handling procedures are being followed while working in a safe manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with supervising Associates in the Deli Department in the absence of the Deli Manager.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three months related experience and/or training
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Associates of the organization.
