Job summary

Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Unit Tech Level II NICU to provide clerical, equipment and patient care support on the NICU unit. The role includes handling phones, EMR data entry, stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and assisting with patient care duties under supervision.

The candidate should graduate from a Nurse Aide School, maintain Nurse Aide Certification, and keep CPR current. NCI or equivalent training is required within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Nurse Aide School.
• Nurse Aide Certification.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) continuously maintained.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) or equivalent within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Respond to communication devices (phone/vocera/call bells) and enter basic data into the EMR.
• Stock supplies, check expirations, order supplies and clean equipment.
• Transport specimens and assist with patient care activities as directed.
• Assist with room orientation and patient/family education materials.
• Transport patients off unit for tests/procedures and assist with routine care tasks.
