RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Unit Secretary for the Neonatal ICU on a part-time, day-shift schedule (7am–3pm) at Monmouth Medical Center. The role functions as the communication link of the multidisciplinary team, handling phones, chart organization, and clerical duties to support nursing staff.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and understanding of medical terminology. Rotating weekends/holidays and hourly pay range of $17.62–$19.57 reflect the NJ market.

Qualifications

• Role requires comprehension of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones/intercoms in a courteous and timely manner, screens calls and refers messages appropriately
• Assists in the flow of department work processes by running errands to other departments as requested
• Functions in an emergency as a team member with guidance from supervisory personnel
• Maintains adequate supply of clerical materials
• Maintains proper order of patient charts as per established guidelines
• Performs duties to support the nursing staff
• Processes the flow of information on the nursing unit and when appropriate, with outside institutions and individuals as directed
• Provides accurate computer data entry of information
• Sorts and distributes mail
