Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver direct patient care across respiratory therapies under physician orders. You will collaborate with physicians to evaluate therapy effectiveness and support nursing staff as an advanced respiratory care resource.

Requirements include graduation from a CoARC approved program, an active RCP license, NBRC RRT credential, and PALS in ER if applicable. ACLS is preferred and prior critical care experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the NBRC. PALS required in ER.
• ACLS preferred.
• Critical care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.
