Job summary

OU Medicine's Oklahoma Children’s Hospital Neonatal ICU in Oklahoma City is seeking an RN for a two-year NICU Residency, starting Spring, with night shifts. The program includes 14-week orientation, NICU didactic education, skills labs, and preceptor-guided bedside learning.

RNs will grow into leadership roles, gain exposure to ECMO/CRRT, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff while delivering high-acuity care to the state's smallest patients.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• 0-3 years of RN patient care experience.
• Current RN license (OK State Board or multi-state compact).
• Basic Life Support (AHA) certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Align behaviors with OU Health values and nursing standards.
• Manage an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Document responses to nursing interventions and update physician orders.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor procedures.
• Monitor patients' physiological data and respond accordingly.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Initiate and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
• Provide safe and competent patient care.
• Support patient/family education and discharge planning.
• Delegate tasks to clinical staff as needed.
