Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – St. Louis is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct nursing care in the NICU, coordinating care with multiple disciplines and ensuring smooth discharge planning.

This on-site role requires attention to policy and patient safety, with duties spanning order administration, ongoing assessment and collaboration. Night shifts may apply as part of the unit’s 36-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
