RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) for Jersey City Medical Center. The role offers a full-time night schedule, opportunities for professional growth, and a collaborative, safety-focused team environment.

Qualified candidates hold NJ nursing licensure, BLS and NRP, and a BSN or active BSN enrollment. NICU experience is preferred, with EPIC EMR proficiency and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification and NRP certification.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing required or enrolled in BSN with expected completion date.
• Minimum two years of RN experience in acute care; NICU experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems (EPIC) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• The NICU Nursing team collaborates with the multidisciplinary care team to maintain professional nursing standards in the Maternal Child Health setting.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening early and advocating for patients.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in clinical judgment.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced practitioners, supporting timely, coordinated care decisions.
• Offer clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they are informed and prepared for the next phase of care.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR to promote continuity and patient safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds, aiding communication and smooth transitions of care.
• Participate in a collaborative team environment with shared accountability and growth opportunities.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through continuing education and clinical ladder opportunities.
