Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut seeks a NICU RN to provide high-quality neonatal care within a supportive team. The role requires applying nursing process, forming strong nurse-patient relationships, and delivering care as part of a collaborative unit.

Graduate from a nursing program with BSN/MSN preferred; CT RN license, BLS, and NRP within 60 days of hire are essential. Prior NICU experience and CCRN/RNC are highly valued in this critical care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing. BSN or MSN preferred.
• One (1) year RN experience and/or completion of Nurse Residency Program. Two (2)+ years in NICU preferred.
• Current unrestricted RN license in the state of CT.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
• Ability to obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain department-specific certifications.
• Registered Nurse Core Certification (RNC - NIC or CCRN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence through nursing process and nurse-patient relationship.
• Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care.
